Box Tops Competition

Posted on Monday, November, 10th, 2014 at 8:17 am

Our first Box Tops Competition for this school year is over. The students will be happy to know that they won!!!

As a reward for the preschoolers, they will have breakfast and pajama day on Friday, December 5.  The elementary students won “No Uniforms for a Week” which will be December 8 – 12.

We have now started our second competition, which will end November 21. From now until Thanksgiving we have a “Box Tops for Feathers” project.  Tom the Turkey has lost his feathers and needs them before Thanksgiving. For every 20 box tops Tom will get one feather.  In order for him to be dressed for Thanksgiving, he will need 1,500 box tops.

If Tom is completely dressed by Thanksgiving, the elementary students will win a one-time only “No Homework Pass” for the subject of their choice.  The preschool students will get to have a “Dress Up Day”.  Tom will be located in the hall next to the gym so students can see their progress.

Starting December 1 through February 27, we will have another competition where we will build “Frosty the Snowman”. Frosty needs 10,000 box tops to be complete. 500 box tops equals one snowman piece.

If Frosty is completely dressed by February 27, Mr. Terry will kiss a pig in front of the whole school (preschool and elementary)!!!!

Our last competition for the year will begin March 1 and go through May 15. The students will be “Racing for Recess”.  First and second place winners in preschool and first and second place winners in elementary will have extra recess time where they will get to have a water gun battle.

Don’t worry parents….preschool and elementary will participate separately.

For all competitions we will still have our “traveling box top trophy” each week. The class with the highest percentage for that week will get to have the trophy.

For the last three competitions, students will also be competing against one another. From now until the end of the year, please put your box tops in a sealed envelope or a Ziploc bag with your child’s name on it.  We will keep a running total of box tops for each student and at the end of the year the first place winner will receive $25, second place $15, and third place $10.  The monetary competition will include all students in preschool and elementary as a whole.

Only box tops that have not expired will count toward any competition.
