What is an “RSS newsfeed” and why should I care?

RSS (Rich Site Summary) is an Internet technology that allows you to sit back and wait for Web site and/or blog changes to come to you instead of your having to constantly go back and check the site to see if anything has changed. Sound good? Well, we’ve set up our news blogs using “RSS newsfeed” addresses so that when there is news in a newsfeed(s) that you have subscribed to, your RSS newsreader app can pull the new content in for a convenient, all-in-one-place reading experience.

So how do you subscribe to our news feed at

Some newsreader apps let you just enter a web site’s address (you would enter for our site) and it will look at the site and find any RSS feeds that happen to be present. This usually works well if the site you’re interested in only has one newsfeed. But because we have the main newsfeed by which you can get any blog item posted regardless of what grade or department, PLUS ten more individual feeds, you will probably have to enter the specific newsfeed address that you are interested in. That’s really all there is to it. If you run into problems or need more clarification, email me at and I will be happy to assist you.

We hope you benefit from and enjoy this way of getting the latest news from all around PDS or just the very specific newsfeed you are interested in with the convenience of the news coming to you instead of you having to remember to come back to our Web site to check. Of course we’re always glad to have you back!
